Thakkali Pachadi
Ingredients
Tomatoes- 4 medium
Green chilly- 2
Dry red chilly- 2
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- a few
Sugar-1 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
oil- 2 tsp
Yogurt- 1 1/2 cup
Grated coconut-1/4 cup
Cumin- a pinch
garlic pod-1
Cut tomatoes into cubes. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When the splutter add curry leaves and dry red chilly and fry for a few seconds. After this add diced tomatoes and green chilly,sugar and salt and saute till the tomatoes get soft and cooked. Switch off the flame and let it cool down a bit.
Meanwhile make a paste of grated coconut, cumin and garlic. Blend this mixture into the yogurt and pour it over the cooked tomatoes. Bring it back to heat and allow the pachadi to warm a bit. Serve with rice.
