Spicy Pepper Prawns Fry

Pepper Prawns Fry

Deep-fried spicy and salty prawns are irresistible and one of my favorite ways to eat prawns. Do you love prawns? Prawns are popular among seafood lovers and are my absolute favorite. This crispy fry will be a perfect treat for your family. Pepper Prawns fry is crispy fried prawns with exciting flavors of garlic, butter, zesty lemon, and a kick of pepper. It is my take to butter garlic shrimp, but a little spicy. This recipe is so versatile and easy to prepare. These crispy prawns are ready in under 15 minutes and will be the star of any meal.

If you are frying prawns, you can leave the heads on the prawns. It adds stronger flavor, and when fried, has an irresistible delicate crispness to it, juicy and equally tasty. Thanks to hubby to convinced me that the head is the most flavorful part of prawns. If you are not a fan of the head,  don’t worry. You can use regular shrimp instead. Prawns fry is easy to make. Here are a few tips to get them crispy and golden. Try to keep the marinade compact on the shrimp. Adding a teaspoon of corn starch helps to hold the masala together. Rice flour is also a good substitute. The trick to remember when frying is not to crowd the pan. Fry it in a single layer and turn the heat to low-medium. Do not overcook the prawns.

The spicy marinade has black pepper, roasted bell pepper, and bird's eye chili. Birdseye chili is a hot spicy one. If you cannot handle the heat, you can skip it or substitute it with a less spicy one. Roasting pepper enhances the flavor, and birds eye chili and black pepper contribute a little heat which is the key to this recipe. You will find this a perfect appetizer or serve it as a snack.

Undan Pori Today's post is a delicious snack usually common in small restaurants and tea stalls of Kerala. It resembles very much to the unni appam yet it is different in its taste and texture. Undan pori  is crispy and crunchy and at the same time soft and spongy inside. This snack was regularly seen in our college canteen. But this humble snack was brought it only if there was a shortage of uzhunnu vada and parippu vada. It sounds funny but being away from Kerala I felt a craving for this snack and tried it once, but I did not get the perfect chayakada/teastall taste. When I saw this recipe in Swathi's blog -Zesty South Indian Kitchen-I knew this was the perfect recipe. I tried it and it was really delicious. Thanks Swathi for the recipe.
