Kadachakka Payasam/ Breadfruit Pudding

Kadachakka Payasam Kadachakka/ breadfruit payasam is a quick dessert . You can make this with coconut milk and jaggery or with sugar.This is my mom's recipe. Here I have used sago pearls along with bread fruit to make this payasam. My mom some times makes it with small rice dumpling called kozhukatta.Give this recipe a try, you will surely love it. Ingredients Bread fruit sliced- 3 cup Sago pearls/ chowari-1/2 cup Thick coconut milk- 1 1/2 cup Thin coconut milk- 3/4 cup Powdered jaggery- 1 cup (Adjust according to sweetness you prefer) Water- 3/4 cup Cardamom crushed- 5-6 Chukku/dry ginger powder- a pinch (optional) Sliced coconut- 3 tbs Raisins and cashew nuts- a few Ghee- 2 tbs   To cook the sago boil 5-6 cups of water. Breadfruit/Kadachakka Puzhukku Kadachakka Puzhukku is cooked and mashed breadfruit with coconut and spices. It is a simple everyday meal that you can find in rural villages of South India. Chemmeen Kadachakka Masala/ Prawns Breadfruit Masala Kadachakka/ sheemachakka/breadfruit is widely cooked in Kerala and there are several recipes with breadfruit as the star ingredient. Earlier I posted a sweet coconut stew made with breadfruit. This is a spicy delectable combo with prawns. You can serve this with rice, chapathi or pathiri. Kadachakka Ethapazham Stew One of my vegetable/ fruit of the moment is breadfruit, and it has rekindled memories of a forgotten taste. Not everyone shares my enthusiasm for breadfruit in my family. This simple old-fashioned treat with ripe breadfruit and plantains cooked in coconut milk is comforting and inviting, and my family enjoyed it. My recipe comes from my mother and has a homey feel to it. It is a mildly sweet creamy stew served as a side dish for breakfast or as a snack on its own.
